More information on our Newfoundland Puppies for sale

All of the puppies above are available for pick up. Many people will like to know much about the breed before adopting it. Below are informations on our Newfoundland puppies for sale.

Temperament and Intelligence

The Newfoundland is a dog born with an almost unlimited energy. It is friendly, outgoing, and rarely aggressive. It is also very dedicated, loyal, and has a strong desire to please. This makes it easy to train through positive reinforcement by using food, praise, and play as rewards. The downside of its attention-seeking and people-pleasing attitude is its tendency to develop separation anxiety. In spite of being a hyperactive dog, the Newfoundland is ideal for first-time owners, provided that it is given the right amount of mental stimulation and physical exercise.

The Newfoundland is an excellent watchdog as it is naturally alert, curious, and interested in everything that goes around it. It is generally good around children since it is a gentle dog by nature. Being an energetic dog, interaction or play may become a bit rough, so supervision is a must. As for other pets, the Newfoundland rarely shows dominance and aggression toward other dogs if it has been well socialised at a young age. Care must be taken especially for small unknown pets.

Grooming:

Newfoundland dogs do shed throughout the entire year. During regular days, they lose a fair amount of hair. However, when shedding season comes around, which occurs in spring and fall, the Newfie goes through heavy shedding. This is called “coat blowing”, and it happens twice a year for the Newfoundland dog breed. In spring, the heaviest shedding takes place as Newfies are getting rid of their thick winter coat in preparation for the summer heat. During winter, they will lose large chunks of fur for three to four weeks. Note that a Newfoundland puppy does not shed as much as a fully matured Newf. The growth of the adult dog coat will begin when the pup is about 6 to 18 months old. It is quite common for many puppies to have their full coat when they reach the age of 3. Since the Newfie has a thick coat, it will require frequent brushing, at least two to three times a week. Use a slicker brush and follow it up with a long-toothed comb. These will remove dead hair and prevent mats from forming. When shedding season starts, brushing should be done daily to keep loose hairs from clumping together. Bathing every two months is recommended. Its handsome coat will often need some professional grooming since keeping its fluffy coat neat may be a daunting task for owners. Don’t forget to brush the Newfie’s teeth at least twice a week to prevent gum disease and bad breath. It is also important to clean the ears thoroughly with a vet-approved solution to avoid bacterial growth and potential infection.

Training:

Newfoundland just like their parents, are very easy to be trained. Both parents have a great temperament with helps the Newfoundland easy to be trained. Newfoundland  can quickly learn basic commands, but can also learn typical parlor tricks such as crawl, play dead and dance. Their enthusiasm and desire to entertain will keep your family and friends entertained and laughing! So, don’t miss out on the opportunity to teach this adorable puppy some incredible tricks.
