Newfoundland Puppies For Sale

Special Newfoundland is a state registered breeder specialised in raising pure breed Newfoundland puppies. We have owned and raised Newfoundlands for more than 7 years. The Newfoundland is a large dog under the working dog category. Also known as Newf or Newfie, the breed originated in Canada and was bred to work for fishers in the Dominion of Newfoundland, a region in Canada. One thing that is sure about Newfoundland is that it was bred to work. It was utilised as a guard dog, shepherd, and fishing dog. Today, the Newfoundland is a favourite family companion, the Newfoundland is well known for its huge size, strength, loyalty, intelligence, and quiet disposition. This working breed is known to be good with children, which makes it a natural babysitter. A Newfoundland dog puppy will have to wait for two years before its body becomes fully matured. At 5 to 6 months of age, its growth is gradual and steady, after which, it will experience a growth spurt. The Newfoundland dog breed is a smart, playful, clownish, and loving dog that thrives on human interaction. They get along well with other pets in the household, but may chase after stray animals. Protective and courageous, the Newfoundland dog is a good candidate for a watchdog and a guard dog. As athletic working dogs, they require extensive daily exercise to wear them out. They have an average lifespan of 9-12 years.  We understand some people have little or no knowledge about the Newfoundland dog breed but may like to own one. About Newfoundland

The history of the Newfoundland dog breed is long and shrouded in mystery. The Newfoundland breed originated in the coast of Newfoundland in Canada. Basque fishermen were believed to be the ones who introduced Newfies to the country. Although the reason why they opted to bring a flock-guarding dog is vague, they gradually developed the Newf as a working dog, both on land and water. Newfoundland evolved with water-resistant double coats and webbed feet. These traits made them highly adaptable to working in various jobs. The Newfie’s build made it capable of hauling fishing nets and pulling carts filled with fish to the market. The breed’s most important job involves water rescues. These water dogs swam lifelines to victims of shipwrecks. Many many experts believe that the Newfoundland dog breed descended from the Tibetan Mastiffs and the now-extinct American Black Wolf. Another theory suggests that the breed came from Portuguese Mastiffs brought by Portuguese fishermen in the 16th century. Newfoundlands were also believed to have descended from the Great Pyrenees dogs and black retrievers. Others claim that the Newfoundland shares many physical traits with the St. Bernard and the English Mastiff with its stout legs, large heads, bull necks, and broad snouts. The first time the Newfoundland was shown in England was in 1860, whilst the first breed was registered in 1879 by the American Kennel Club. In 1886, the Newfoundland Club was created in the UK and is now the oldest stud club in Britain.

OUR STORY

Thanks for visiting our website. I am called Tyler Simmons. The Simmons family are the owners of Special Newfoundland. We have been breeding this lovely breed dogs since 2016. My wife and I are pet lovers so we took up the initiative to breed these lovely dog breed to satisfy the needs of families who will want to own or add a new member to their family. My knowledge about the Newfoundland has grown as the years go by as they are a dog breed that are very smart and make us to learn new things everyday. My history with owning a puppy goes right back to my Christmas holidays when I was 10 years old. My parents bought me a lovely Newfoundland  puppy which I named Liam. Liam gave me a lot of childhood memories when I was growing as a teen. He was more than a best friend to me. He was so lovely and friendly. Each time I got angry back then about something, Liam was always there to console me and make me smile again. I always thought he could talk as he understood me so much. I always speak to him at times hoping he will respond. Everywhere I went to, Liam was with me. I met my wife in college. We were very good friends back then. She loved Liam until she insisted her parents should get her a Newfoundland . That was how our love for this lovely dog breed grew up. Our dogs use to play together . Unfortunately in our later years at college, I lost my lovely puppy Liam. We grew up loving each other so much and loving this dog breed. Later on, We got married and with our love for Newfoundlands, we decided to breed and raise this dog breed and why not educate puppy lovers about the importance of owning a Newfoundland puppy. Fast forward to today, my wife and I raise our 2 kids and breed the Puppies on our 3 acres of land where our puppies have enough space to play around. My family and I are dedicated to help everyone own the perfect, healthy puppy for their home. With our knowledge of this dog breed from childhood, we will say Newfoundlands are the best dogs to own. We spend our time in training these puppies and making sure we help families own the most intelligent of this dog breed.
